BUILD THE
INFRASTRUCTURETHAT KEEPS
HUMANS ALIVE

We are a small team doing consequential work. Engineering the systems, platforms and hardware that allow humans to operate where no infrastructure currently exists — deep ocean, extreme industry and the frontier of space.

WHY
METAKOSMOS

Consequential Work

Your engineering decisions directly impact human survival in the most extreme conditions on Earth and beyond.

Frontier Access

Work at the intersection of spaceflight, defence and deep-tech — an environment few engineers ever reach.

Small Team, Large Scope

No bureaucracy. Direct ownership of full systems, platforms and subsystems from day one.

Research Translation

Direct pipeline from lab bench to field deployment — your research reaches operational environments, not just papers.

MISSION-DRIVEN
FROM DAY ONE

At Metakosmos, mission success and human safety are non-negotiable. Every team member carries the weight of that mandate — and the privilege of working toward it. We don't build products. We build infrastructure that humans will one day depend on to survive.

We are a lean, deeply cross-disciplinary team drawing from aerospace engineering, biomechanics, materials science, software systems and human factors research. The work is hard, the problems are unsolved, and the stakes are real.

We move fast on decisions, build transparently, share failures as openly as wins, and hold each other to the highest standards of craft and rigour. If that environment energises you — we want to hear from you.

Rigour Over Speed
We take the time to do it right. Our systems will operate in environments where failure means loss of life.
Radical Transparency
Everyone knows the mission status, the constraints and the hard truths. No siloes, no hidden agendas.
Human-Centred Engineering
Every technical decision traces back to a human being in an extreme environment. That person is always in the room.

LIFE AT
METAKOSMOS

Research & Development
ENGINEERING AT THE BOUNDARY

Our R&D environment is unlike any other. You will work on problems that have never been solved, with hardware that doesn't yet exist, for environments humans have barely reached. This is frontier engineering at its most literal.

Collaboration
CROSS-DISCIPLINARY TEAMS

Aerospace engineers work alongside biomechanics researchers, software architects and materials scientists. The best solutions emerge from the collision of disciplines — and we build the conditions for that to happen every day.

Testing
PROVE ENVIRONMENT ACCESS

Direct access to our extreme environment validation infrastructure — pressure chambers, thermal rigs and human systems simulation facilities at UTS Tech Lab.

Global Reach
MISSIONS ACROSS 3 CONTINENTS

From Sydney to the Indian Space Conclave to SXSW — the Metakosmos team operates globally. Conference participation, international partnerships and field deployments are part of the role.

BENEFITS &
ENVIRONMENT

We are an early-stage deep-tech company. We can't always compete with corporate salaries — but we offer something most companies never can: the chance to build something that matters, with people who care, on problems that have never been solved.

Frontier Access

Work with hardware, infrastructure and environments that almost no other organisation in the world can offer access to. Deep space, deep sea and deep industry — all in one platform.

Research Translation

Direct pipeline from academic research to operational deployment. Your work reaches the field — not just a journal. Partnership with UTS provides world-class laboratory and testing infrastructure.

Equity Participation

Early team members participate in the company's growth. As we scale from prototype to orbital deployment, the people who built it from the ground up share in that success.

Tight-Knit Team

A small, high-trust team where your voice, your decisions and your work are visible every single day. No layers. No politics. Direct impact on the mission from day one.

Conference & Field Exposure

Represent Metakosmos at global conferences, space industry events and field missions. We are active participants in the global human spaceflight and extreme tech ecosystem.

Mission-Critical Ownership

You don't manage a feature. You own a system. From biometrics to life-support to deployment infrastructure — each team member carries full responsibility for a critical slice of the platform.

Early Careers Workshop — UTS Tech Lab

EARLY
CAREERS

We believe some of the most important work in human spaceflight will be done by people who haven't yet started their careers. We actively create pathways for students, recent graduates and early-career researchers to contribute to the Metakosmos mission.

Whether you're finishing an engineering degree, completing a PhD in materials science or exploring human factors research — if the problem space excites you, we want to engage with you early.

Undergraduate Internships
Semester and summer placement programs embedded within active R&D workstreams at UTS Tech Lab.
Research Translation Program
PhD and postdoctoral researchers working to translate academic outputs directly into platform-integrated hardware.
Graduate Entry Program
Structured entry pathway for recent graduates moving into full-time roles across engineering, research and operations.
Global Exchange Program
International placement opportunities embedded in partner institutions and collaborating organisations across Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America.
