We are a small team doing consequential work. Engineering the systems, platforms and hardware that allow humans to operate where no infrastructure currently exists — deep ocean, extreme industry and the frontier of space.
Your engineering decisions directly impact human survival in the most extreme conditions on Earth and beyond.
Work at the intersection of spaceflight, defence and deep-tech — an environment few engineers ever reach.
No bureaucracy. Direct ownership of full systems, platforms and subsystems from day one.
Direct pipeline from lab bench to field deployment — your research reaches operational environments, not just papers.
At Metakosmos, mission success and human safety are non-negotiable. Every team member carries the weight of that mandate — and the privilege of working toward it. We don't build products. We build infrastructure that humans will one day depend on to survive.
We are a lean, deeply cross-disciplinary team drawing from aerospace engineering, biomechanics, materials science, software systems and human factors research. The work is hard, the problems are unsolved, and the stakes are real.
We move fast on decisions, build transparently, share failures as openly as wins, and hold each other to the highest standards of craft and rigour. If that environment energises you — we want to hear from you.
Own the end-to-end architecture of the Metakosmos Human Systems Infrastructure Platform. You will design, integrate and validate life-support and biometric subsystems for both orbital and terrestrial extreme environments.
Design and integrate real-time physiological monitoring systems into the PULSE platform. You will work across wearable sensors, edge processing and mission-critical data pipelines to deliver human performance insights in live extreme environments.
Research and develop advanced thermal regulation, pressure management and radiation-resistant textile systems for integration into the Metakosmos dual-use spacesuit architecture. UTS Lab access provided.
Build the software infrastructure underpinning CORE — the backbone connecting all Metakosmos subsystems. You will work across embedded systems, cloud infrastructure and real-time data processing for mission-critical applications.
Coordinate the end-to-end lifecycle of extreme environment missions through the DEPLOY platform. You will manage pre-mission planning, crew briefings, live operations and post-mission debrief and reporting.
Drive strategic partnership development with government agencies, defence organisations, research institutions and commercial partners. Own the full partnership lifecycle from identification through to signed agreements and ecosystem integration.
Our R&D environment is unlike any other. You will work on problems that have never been solved, with hardware that doesn't yet exist, for environments humans have barely reached. This is frontier engineering at its most literal.
Aerospace engineers work alongside biomechanics researchers, software architects and materials scientists. The best solutions emerge from the collision of disciplines — and we build the conditions for that to happen every day.
Direct access to our extreme environment validation infrastructure — pressure chambers, thermal rigs and human systems simulation facilities at UTS Tech Lab.
From Sydney to the Indian Space Conclave to SXSW — the Metakosmos team operates globally. Conference participation, international partnerships and field deployments are part of the role.
We are an early-stage deep-tech company. We can't always compete with corporate salaries — but we offer something most companies never can: the chance to build something that matters, with people who care, on problems that have never been solved.
Work with hardware, infrastructure and environments that almost no other organisation in the world can offer access to. Deep space, deep sea and deep industry — all in one platform.
Direct pipeline from academic research to operational deployment. Your work reaches the field — not just a journal. Partnership with UTS provides world-class laboratory and testing infrastructure.
Early team members participate in the company's growth. As we scale from prototype to orbital deployment, the people who built it from the ground up share in that success.
A small, high-trust team where your voice, your decisions and your work are visible every single day. No layers. No politics. Direct impact on the mission from day one.
Represent Metakosmos at global conferences, space industry events and field missions. We are active participants in the global human spaceflight and extreme tech ecosystem.
You don't manage a feature. You own a system. From biometrics to life-support to deployment infrastructure — each team member carries full responsibility for a critical slice of the platform.
We believe some of the most important work in human spaceflight will be done by people who haven't yet started their careers. We actively create pathways for students, recent graduates and early-career researchers to contribute to the Metakosmos mission.
Whether you're finishing an engineering degree, completing a PhD in materials science or exploring human factors research — if the problem space excites you, we want to engage with you early.
