Sustained +Gz drives blood away from the brain toward the lower body. Anti-G protection has to deliver precisely timed lower-body counter-pressure to maintain cerebral perfusion, and it has to work alongside the anti-G straining manoeuvre rather than against it.
Hypoxia Mitigation
As ambient pressure falls, oxygen transfer across the alveolar membrane degrades and cognition, vision and motor control follow. Above the physiological threshold, positive pressure breathing is required, and it needs chest counter-pressure to be survivable rather than exhausting.
Cumulative Load and Fatigue
G exposure produces petechial haemorrhage and musculoskeletal fatigue that accumulates across a sortie and across a tour. Distributing that load is a materials and architecture problem, and knowing how much has accumulated is a measurement problem.
